How does it work?

WiFi Canarias has a series of repeat stations located in various parts of the geography. These stations provide wireless coverage that is captured thanks to a small receiving device, installed at each client’s home and is connected directly to the PC or an indoor WiFi access point via an UTP network cable. What do I need to connect?

WiFi Canarias provides everything you need to connect to your network. All you need is a computer with FastEthernet interface, something that comes from serial with any computer, Windows XP operating system or above, any linux distribution with kernel greater than 2.2 or if you use APPLE, any version of OSX. You can also connect to your iPhone, iPad, or smartphone via our WiFi Router.

Can I have WiFi inside?

Yes, you’ll only need a wireless gateway (also known as Router WiFi). WiFi Canary Islands supplies and installs a KIT that includes a 300Mbps 300Mbps Wireless Router MiMo 802.11bgn with 4 mouths Switch. We also take care of implementing security policies, in order to prevent neighbors from connecting to your router and maintain your privacy.

What’s the top speed?

WiFi Canarias offers for residential users connections between 12 and 50Mbps in residential mode. It is also possible to hire speeds above 100Mbps in business connections. These high connections are subject to verification by our technicians, in order to ensure the stability and quality of service.

Can I have public IP?

Of course: all our connections include a dynamic public IP address, with the option of hiring static public IP. In no case do we offer CG-NAT – you can know more at this link.

Can I have a phone line?

Yes, yes. We offer you a landline with geographical numbering and discount plans. You can request your phone line or hire flat rates to national fixed destinations, national mobiles or international calls.

What about a mobile phone?

I need a symmetrical connection. Is that possible?

Yes, it is possible. We have symmetrical connections from 10Mbps. All symmetrical modalities include a static public IP address. We also have specific connections for video surveillance camera systems.

Is there any difference between WiFi Canary Islands Air Internet and satellite connections?

There are many differences, but the most important ones you need to know:

Satellite connections are affected by adverse weather. WIFi Canary Air Internet is immune from that.
Flat fares are often misleading: they usually have a monthly traffic limit and if they are exceeded, they slow down. Our Air Internet service has no transfer limits.
The latency in satellite connections is very high, usually above 250mSeg and can vary irregularly. Our Air Internet service is around 30mSeg National.
